The Vermont Veterans' Home in Bennington, VT has multiple temporary openings available for Veteran Buddy staff to provide 1-to-1 assistance to Veterans and members at the Vermont Veterans' Home long-term care facility.
As a Veteran Buddy, you will be working closely with Veterans and members who may need supervision and/or additional 1-1 support beyond the care provided by nursing staff. This is great opportunity to contribute to the care we provide for our Veterans. The Vermont Veterans' Home is a 5-star CMS rated facility, and we pride ourselves on providing the best of class healthcare services to Veterans, their spouses, and gold star parents.
The schedule for this position will vary based on the needs of the facility at the current time, and will include some weekends.

Who May Apply
This position, Veteran Buddy (Temporary) (Job Requisition #180), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. This position is open until filled. The State of Vermont posts vacancies for a minimum of ten business days. Positions posted as open until filled can be removed at any time after the initial ten day period. After the initial posting period, departments may begin interviewing and may close the posting without notice.

This class is utility in nature and employees must be flexible in changing from one type of work and location to another on short notice. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
