The Consolidated Federal Programs team is seeking an experienced program leader to fill the position of State Title I Director. The federal Title I grant supports Vermont school systems in promoting equity and success for many of Vermont's most at-risk learners, including homeless students and migrants. This position oversees 2 other team members. The right candidate will enjoy a busy work environment that offers the opportunity to wear many hats and collaborate with diverse stakeholders at federal, state and local levels. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to accurately interpret and consistently apply federal and state education law. Candidates should be strategic thinkers with a passion for creating technical supports and improving processes. Experience in public education highly preferred.

Normal office working conditions generally prevail. Incumbent must be able to interact, work, and deal with Department staff, educators, state, federal, and local officials, and the general public. Evening and weekend work may be required. Considerable travel is necessary for which private means of transportation must be available
Master's degree AND five (5) years or more of experience at or above a professional level in the broad field of education or human services, INCLUDING one (1) year or more with planning, policy, program administration or a program evaluation role AND two (2) years or more of supervisory experience.
Bachelor's degree AND seven (7) years or more of experience at or above a professional level in the broad field of education or human services, INCLUDING one (1) year or more with planning, policy, program administration or a program evaluation role AND two (2) years or more of supervisory experience.
Experience in public education highly preferred.
