Bennington College seeks an organized, detail-oriented self starter to provide administrative support for a vibrant group of faculty in the visual arts discipline. The Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations for the academic office and provides administrative support to the respective faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities include handling all administrative needs for the discipline, managing budgets and purchasing, as well as organizing curricular and special events hosted by the faculty. The Coordinator will interact with constituents across the College and build relationships with a range of individuals.
The ability to to problem-solve and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously is essential. Candidates must possess a positive attitude and a willingness to assist other disciplines and areas of the College as required. The Program Coordinator is expected to collaborate and coordinate duties with the dance/drama Coordinator to ensure the overall efficient functioning of the visual and performing arts areas. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion. The successful candidate must possess strong computer skills (including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail and Google docs, and internet search techniques.) The position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional administrative experience. The position requires the successful completion and passing of a background check.
This is a full-time position during the academic term (34 weeks per year) and offers a comprehensive benefits program.
