Housekeeping Utility Worker - Temporary

The Vermont Veterans' Home is currently seeking temporary Housekeeping Utility Workers. These positions may include Housekeeping and/or Laundry job duties. Housekeeping duties are mopping, sweeping, dusting, trash removal, cleaning of living spaces and common areas. Laundry duties are laundering linens and personal clothing, sorting and folding, delivery and pickup of laundry as well as operation of laundry machines.
We have a 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and an 11:00am to 7:30 pm shift available; both will include working weekends and holidays.

This position, Housekeeping Utility Worker (Job Requisition #179), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. This position is open until filled. The State of Vermont posts vacancies for a minimum of ten business days. Positions posted as open until filled can be removed at any time after the initial ten day period. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
