The Employer Account Representative will provide business outreach and employer engagement for the Creative Workforce Solutions (CWS) initiative within the Agency of Human Services. This initiative is designed to streamline and improve services to AHS customers and employers across the state by offering consistent, coordinated workforce development in local communities.
As an Employer Account Representative, you will act as a Business Account Manager, serving as a liaison between area service agencies and local/regional employers to develop relationships that will lead to employment opportunities for job candidates. You will manage existing accounts and make outreach to develop new accounts. You will be working with employers to identify how CWS can meet their workforce needs, identifying suitable job openings, promoting the hiring of CWS candidates, and providing ongoing support to your accounts.
You'll work out of our office in Barre, VT, but a great deal of your time will be spent in the community meeting with employers. This is a very metrics driven position. We utilize a Saleforce CRM, so previous experience using Salesforce or other CRM systems is a huge plus.
Typical job duties will include:
- Developing relationships with employers
- Facilitation of the local CWS Employment Team development of workshops and presentations for employers and job candidates,
- Labor market analysis
- Maintenance of our Salesforce CRM system to track outreach activities.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Duties are performed largely in a district office and in the field developing business relationships. Incumbent must be adaptable and able to work within tight time limits and under considerable stress. Field work requires private means of transportation. Evening meetings are predictable.
Master's degree or higher in business administration, marketing, public relations, business analytics, public administration, project management, human resource management, economic development or a related labor and industry field AND one (1) year or more of professional level experience in sales and/or business relations which includes selling or promoting products to the business community.
Bachelor's degree or higher AND two (2) years or more of professional level experience in sales and/or business relations which includes selling or promoting products to the business community.
Associate's degree AND three (3) years or more of professional level experience in sales and/or business relations which includes selling or promoting products to the business community.
High school diploma or equivalent AND five (5) years or more of professional level experience in sales and/or business relations which includes selling or promoting products to the business community.
Experience providing staffing and/or human resource services in a business setting is highly desirable.
