Overview

This position is in the Dietary Division at the Vermont Veterans' Home. The Dietary Utility Worker duties include food preparation, set up and break down of dining areas, delivery of food carts to units, operation of food line, stocking supplies, washing dishes and pots/pans, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen area. The hours for this position are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm and will include working weekends and holidays.

Who May Apply

This position, Dietary Utility Worker (Job Requisition #178), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. This position is open until filled. The State of Vermont posts vacancies for a minimum of ten business days. Positions posted as open until filled can be removed at any time after the initial ten day period. Environmental Factors

Employees in this class will be expected to work in any of the assigned sections; assignments may vary on a daily basis. This class is utility in nature and employees must be flexible in changing from one type of work and location to another on short notice. Considerable standing, walking, and lifting, and carrying of heavy objects may be required. Incumbents must be prepared to drive a vehicle in all types of weather.
