Statement of Purpose
Central Sterile Processing & Distribution (CSPD) is responsible for providing dependable, reliable services to enhance the quality of patient care. Instrument sets, patient care equipment and other medical devices must be processed and distributed in an accurate and timely manner so that surgeons and patient care is not adversely affected.
CSPD is the department that receives. Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, disinfects, and/or sterilizes reusable medical and surgical devices for patient care.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to utilize computer for CSPD functions.
Able to deal with physicians and hospital staff in a professional and courteous manner and to be able to problem solve working independently.
Able to be a team player and work well within the department with staff.
Able to take call after thoroughly trained and to be able to be at hospital within 30 minutes.
CBSPD Technician Certification within two years. Renewal of CBSPD certification every 5 years.
