A Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Behavior Clinician is a Children, Youth and Family Services clinician/case manager who works in contracting schools to provide home/school coordination, interagency service coordination, and direct services to children and youth experiencing a serious emotional disturbance and their families. Staff also assists the contracting school with the implementation of its Positive Behavior Intervention and Support system.


SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Provide consultation to assigned school and program clients in the application of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBiS) methods based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.  
 
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Develop Individualized service plans (ISPs) for 10 program clients and their families who are identified in collaboration with the School’s Educational Support Team (EST).
  2. Deliver services as outlined in the ISP
  3. Monitor, evaluate and revise client/ family ISPs.
  4. Work within assigned school to implement all tiers of PBiS
  5. Serve as a member of the school’s EST
  6. Provide supports to students referred to the EST but not formally referred for an ISP
  7. Observe and support school rules to/for all students within the time constraints of the other duties described herein
  8. Provide coaching to school personnel regarding incidents involving implementation of PBiS implementation and the application of school rules as appropriate
  9. Model and support the School’s efforts to improve school climate and implement PBiS principles and procedures
  10. Attend and conduct PBiS training and meetings as negotiated with school leadership
  11. Perform other duties as assigned by the SBBIS Program Director Conduct and direct behavioral assessments for referred children and youth
  12. Develop Individualized behavior plans
  13. Monitor, evaluate and revise behavior plans
  14. The BA will, under the direct supervision of a BCBA or Senior Behavior Analyst, manage or co-manage with a Behavior Technician or BCBA the behavior planning component of all assigned cases.
  15. Train and supervise staff in the implementation and evaluation of behavior plans
  16. Provide ongoing consultation with WCMHS case managers and school-based case managers.
  17. Provide ongoing consultation to families as directed
  18. Participate on educational/clinical teams in school, community and mental health settings.
  19. Provide for staff training as part of the training team
  20. Perform case manager duties (as described in the SBBIS Case Manager Job Description) as assigned
     

      

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

Master’s degree, enrollment in a Master’s degree program or a BCaBA or BCBA in good standing

1+ years experience as a Behavior Interventionist (or equivalent)

 

Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds and execute physical restraints.  Possession of a valid driver’s license, excellent driving record and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle are required.   

 

Full time (40 hours per week) with benefits.

Short and Long-Term Disability

Coverage is provided at no cost to eligible employees and is effective the first day of the month following 6 months of full-time employment. Short-term disability provides for 50% of basic weekly earnings following a one week waiting period (waived in the event of an accident), for up to 26 weeks. Long-term disability has a 180 day waiting period and provides for 60% of your basic monthly earnings.

Life Insurance/Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Coverage is provided at no charge to employees and is effective the first day of the month following 6 months of full-time employment. The amount of insurance is two (2) times employees’ base annual salary, to a maximum of $300,000.

Free, short-term, confidential counseling and access to resources and specialist referrals. EAP is available to all members of an employee’s household.

Paid Sick & Vacation time

Vacation and sick time are pro-rated according to the employees’ base weekly hours. You earn 12 days of sick and 12 days of vacation in your first year, which increases with length of service to a maximum of 18 days of sick and 24 days of vacation per year after four years of employment.

12 ½ Paid Holidays

New Years Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, President’s Day, Town Meeting Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve (1/2 day), and Christmas Day.

Educational Benefits:

Up to $1,600 per year for matriculating classes.

403(b)

All employees (full- or part-time regular as well as hourly/per diem employees) are able to begin contributing pre-tax earnings at date of hire. WCMHS matches 4.25 – 8% (based on length of service) of eligible gross earnings each year. To be eligible for the match, employees must have one year of service and must have worked at least 1,000 hours. Employee contributions are always 100% vested. Employer contribution is fully vested after 4 years of employment.
