The Department of Children and Families located in White River Junction, VT is in search of an Administrative Services Technician IV to join their team. This is an interim position of up to 6 months.
This position will Interpret and apply departmental rules, regulations and policies as they relate to general office management and provide support to supervisors and administrative staff in carrying out the functions of the office.
The Administrative Services Technician IV duties include answering telephones, front office reception, filing, database entry, entering contact notes and supporting the work of the family service workers and collaborating w the courts and central office staff. AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Performs routine administrative duties in the day to day functions of a division, office, or department requiring independence, judgment, and initiative in determining office needs, in prioritizing and organizing work, and in determining the appropriate action to be taken. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior.
Work is performed in a standard office setting.
High school graduation or equivalent and one (1) year of experience providing administrative-level support to a business or organization.
One (1) year of College level study in accounting, business or public administration, office administration or a related field.
One (1) year as an Administrative Services Technician III with the State of Vermont.
For some positions experience working with the VISION system (VISION is the State of Vermont PeopleSoft financial management system) may be required.
