Spherion Staffing, a national recruiting and staffing agency with a locally owned office in South Burlington, VT is seeking an Accounting Manager for our client in Richmond, VT. This is a full time, Temp-to-Hire opportunity with excellent growth potential!  The ideal candidate will have solid Accounting and Administrative skills. Microsoft Office/strong Excel is required.  Great Plains is a plus.

The Accounting Manager oversees and implements all accounting duties and processes, supports the CFO, Sales, Project Management, Administration and Field Operations for two divisions, manages all Accounts Receivables, and assists with related Administrative and Executive support tasks.

Essential Functions:
Perform, implement and oversee general accounting duties and processes.
Manage Accounts Receivables including collections and customer reconciliation.
Manage projects such as GL annual audit and monthly reports and property rentals.
Support Sales related functions such as year-end schedules, WIPS, Bad Debts, collections.
Assist with insurance related schedules, endorsements, and reconciliations.
Project billing and cost accounting, including project cost accounting.
Work closely with AP, Project Manager and other members of team.
Cross-train and provide support with payroll processing.
Perform general administrative functions as needed.
Degree in Accounting/Finance or Business desirable.
3-5 years Accounting experience with Leadership/strategic mindset.
Solid knowledge of general Accounting principles and procedures.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; must be very strong with Excel.
Knowledge of Accounting software systems; Great Plains a plus.
Able to work independently without supervision, and in a team.
Self-motivated, resourceful and confident problem solver.
Ability to confidently manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
Exceptional organization, accuracy and attention to detail.
Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
Desire to grow within an administrative capacity.
