Contract and Grants management are two career areas which offer linteresting, challenging work, and are in high demand with both government and in the private sector. The position will provide complex administrative work as an assistant to the busy and growing Section. Assigned duties range vastly, but are generally of a complex technical/professional level and may include entry level work on various types of grant and agreements, various tasks related to procurement process through execution and contract administration. This may include assembling documents to support procurement through contract execution, maintaining website, scanning documents, grant and contract tracking, and other various duties as needed. Due to the evolving nature of this Section, this position will also assist with continued process improvement, and development of procedures and operations manuals. We are looking for a candidate with a fresh outlook who is eager to learn.
General Job Description
Professional and technical work involving various procurement processes, contract drafting, and a variety of agreements for the Agency of Transportation. An incumbent may represent the Contract Administration Division on the various Agency committees. Work in this class requires a high level of expertise, breadth of knowledge, and degree of responsibility in procurement processes and contracting. Supervision may be exercised over a professional and technical staff. Work is performed, with considerable independence, under the general direction of an administrative or professional supervisor.

Bachelor's degree in public administration or related discipline AND four (4) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, or public administration.
Two years of full-time college coursework OR associate's degree in public administration or related discipline AND six (6) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, or public administration.
High School diploma AND eight (8) years or more of experience in the review and/or administration of government contracts, grants and agreements, maintenance or construction processes, or public administration.
Two (2) years or more of experience as an AOT Contracts Specialist Ill
with the State of Vermont.
