The Communications Coordinator will serve as an administrative assistant in the Office of Communications, which is responsible for the strategic presentation of the College to external and internal audiences. The incumbent will provide administrative and editorial assistance on communications projects, including: proofreading and copyediting; organizing story ideas; securing permissions; processing freelance contracts; distributing complimentary copies; and archiving projects. Other responsibilities will include: maintenance of photo archive and assistance with administrative details of photo shoots; maintenance of the events calendar on the College's website, including researching and writing promotional copy; assisting with the coordination of all details for several college-wide events each year; general operational and administrative assistance, including: drafting general correspondence; coordinating meetings, travel, lodging, and department activities.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, with a demonstrated interest in editing/publishing and/or higher education preferred. Candidates must possess superior verbal and written communication skills. Must be computer literate in basic word processing, e-mail, and the Internet; experience with spreadsheets (Excel) preferred; experience with basic web publishing software a plus.
