Spectrum Youth and Family Services is restructuring its Development Team and is seeking an experienced federal and state grant writer. This is a part-time position, effective immediately.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and identify new federal and state funding prospects.
- Generate proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
- Generate revenues for agency programs and services through timely submission of well-researched, well written and well-documented federal and state proposals.
- Work with the Development Director, Communication & Grants Manager, Development Committee and staff to develop grant strategies. Develop plans for identifying and soliciting potential federal and state grants.
- Maintain and implement funding, re-application and reporting calendar.
- Work with Program staff to determine needs, funding priorities, and strategies for funding and reporting.
- Collect, analyze, and report data on the performance of program activities that are funded by federal and state grants/contracts.
- Identify funding opportunities and new program areas to match institutional priorities, using research tools.
- Keep abreast of current trends in not-for-profit development programs.
- Special projects as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Candidate must be highly organized, able to multitask in a fast paced environment and have related federal and state grant writing experience; good planning, organizational, and administrative skills required.
Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data and possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently to achieve stated goals.

| Education Requirements |
Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired; a proven track record in grant writing and program development.
