Through a network of 270 food shelves, meals sites, senior centers, shelters, after-school programs, the Vermont Foodbank runs programs that help feed as many as 86,000 Vermonters who need food assistance.
The mission of the Vermont Foodbank is to gather and share quality food and nurture partnerships so that no one in Vermont will go hungry.
You can make a difference.
Hunger is a significant issue in our state, but our supporters ensure a significant response. Consider getting involved. Whether planning an event, holding a food drive, writing a letter to your elected official or volunteering at the Vermont Foodbank, you can make a difference.

In addition to our food distribution program with food shelves across the state, here are some of the Vermont Foodbank's other programs:
Backpack Program: Items such as canned fruit and veggies, cereal, milk, cheese, and soup are discreetly packed into the backpacks of identified students for weekends and school breaks.
Community Kitchen Academy (CKA) prepares underemployed and unemployed Vermonters for a career in the food service industry and lifelong learning through an intensive program of culinary skills development, career readiness and job placement.
Gleaning Program: gleaning is the act of harvesting excess or unmarketable produce from a farm. This act of rescuing food allowed the Foodbank to gather and distribute as much as 400,000 pounds of fresh, local produce last year throughout the state.
