Our Company

What began as a quaint cafe in Waitsfield, VT in 1981, today has become the nation's leading specialty coffee company with sales in excess of $137 million at the end of our 2004 fiscal year. Headquartered in Waterbury, Vermont and publicly-owned since 1993 (NASDAQ-GMCR), Green Mountain Coffee Roasters touches every market from direct mail to e-commerce to our thousands of wholesale accounts in supermarkets, conveninence stores, offices and other locations where fine coffees are sold. Our world-reknown brand is the result of responsible, sustainable and innovative business practices flavored with a passion for coffee.

Our Products

We roast high-quality arabica coffees and offer over 75 coffee selections including single-origins, estates, certified organics, Fair Trade, proprietary blends, and flavored coffees that we sell under the Green Mountain Coffee Roasters® brand. The origin of our beans are as exotic and diverse as the flavors, with coffee beans grown in Central and South America, Mexico, the Hawaiian Islands, Indonesia and Africa.

At Green Mountain Coffee, we are dedicated to providing the richest aroma and flavor, for the highest quality coffee experience. We travel the globe to purchase the finest coffees, batch roast them to peak flavor, and vacuum package them fresh for the enjoyment of all.

Special Messages
Community Support

Through our Community Action For Employees (CAFÉ) program, Green Mountain encourages employees to perform volunteer work while on company time, the equivalent of 6.5 work days a year. In FY 2003, employees were reimbursed by GMCR for a total of 1,270 hours of volunteer community service time. Employee volunteers have worked with schools, children's organizations, houses of worship, ambulance corps, volunteer fire departments, and non-profit organizations of many types including Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, and the March of Dimes.

Other efforts have included the "Corporate Food Fight" a competition among Vermont businesses to support the Vermont Food Bank (we've won the trophy two years running) and mentoring to local schoolchildren. Five percent of our pretax profit goes directly to social responsibility initiatives.
